My amazing friend Josh made this little video of me for a series Ontisuka Tiger are producing on young creative people. Seeing / hearing myself on film is totally weird and gross but it’s cool to look back on some stuff I did last year! Thanks Josh! (ps. please ignore how dishevelled / homeless I look while stressing out over how to paint a mural)
Some exciting news if you like buying stuff! Remember the giant dream catcher I made for the Standard Store? Well I’ve finally finished making some mini versions which are now available in my brand spanking new lil’ web shoppe! I hope to be building up the store in the coming weeks so please check back! (ps. free shipping in Oz!) xo
The beautiful “Wholeo Dome” was created as an exercise in communicating using coloured light, which apparently everyone can experience, just by stepping inside.
It was built in 1974 (naturally) and is covered with curved, stained glass panels. In 2004 after being kept in storage for 20 years it was installed at The Farm School in Summertown, Tennessee, USA.
The website is bizarre and awful, but I love the idea behind this! (Wholeo Dome)
Has anyone else noticed an abundance of rats in Redfern lately? Are they hanging out like they own the joint cos it’s Summer? Man those guys are gross (will probably have ratty nightmares after drawing these)
How totally gorge and inspiring are these vintage luggage tags? Back when travelling was considered mega glamorous and baggage labels were status symbols! Divine! (taken from this incredible site)
An amazing, tripped out, mind-bending ode to Polka Dots! Directed by one of my heroes, Busby Berkeley. (The Polka Dot Polka & Ending Extravaganza - The Gang’s All Here (1943))
Last day of the year feels kinda like this. My head is still spinning from everything that was 2011…(moving house x 3, beginning to like cats (!!!), no summer, new friends, working so hard, breakups, business ventures, snail mail, new job, growing up / not growing up, taking pictures, worst hangovers of my life, innumerable pom poms, plotting adventures, self-reliance, reconciliations, cake, the future…)
Gonna spend the rest of the day at home, making cookies, cocktails and rebooting for 2012. See you on the other side!
